Tarheel Tamaskan

I was talking to some people and they said the Tamaskan is just another designer breed, because they were made to look like wolves. I had a hard time explaining to them that they aren't a designer breed.

Is this because not many people know of this breed and the fact that it is a rare breed? These people were Doberman owners.

Do you think once they are recognized by the AKC and UKC and FCI they will have more respect?Also how far along is the Tamaskan breed with being recognized?
