I live in south florida, and it can get pretty hot here. A lot of the photos, as well as, the breeders for the dogs live in milder climates w/ snow. I have a Germ. Shepherd Dog now and spring is a beast for me as far as shedding, but i'm used to it, and so is he (w/ the heat in mind). Does anyone have any input as far as these dogs being acclimated to hotter climates and if they thrive. I'm sure as a puppy it would get used to it, just looking for some input. Thanks!

I know that it gets pretty hot in North Carolina and I know of Tamaskans in Texas, Also very hot. The Tamaksan can adapt to the heat but they do prefer the cooler climates. Afterall, they are an arctic breed. When the tempuratures get into the 90's I bring the dogs into the house so they can be more comfortable. Once the temurature drops in the evening they can go back outside to play. But generally my Tamaskans are inside more than they are outside. They are part of the family and we enjoy there company inside the house when we are in.
