The NTCA just hosted their very first Tamaskan Dog Show. THe show was wonderful, the weather was great and a good time was had by dogs and people. In the Puppy Class, Saley from Mischiff Tamaskan took First Place. Misty, a Tarheel pup owned by Dave Vernon to FIrst in the Junior Class. THe Open class was won by Tundra from Tarheel. Best in Show went to Misty. Our Judge, Lori never seen a Tamaskan until the day of Judging. Lori is very familar with the Standard Schnauzer having breed and shown them. Lori was throughly impressed by all of the Tamaskans at the show and thought the breed was very true to type. We had an excellant breed of dog and that for a breed so new we were certainally heading down the right path. Hearing this from a dog judge that has been a round a while, knowing very little to nothing about our breed, makes you proud to be apart of the Tamaskan dogs. Job well done to all the dogs that participated. Congratulations to all the owners and handlers, and thanks to all of our guests that came out to celebrate and meet our Tamaskans.

21 September 2009, Jaeger Vom Munsterland arrives at Tarheel Tamaskan. Jaeger as he is called comes from Germany. On occasion Jaeger will make the all too common puppy whine. When he does there is a portion of his voice that sounds like a chirping bird. When Jaeger does this we often call him Little Bird. As cute as it is I hope he outgrows the puppy whining as it is not fitting of a mighty Tamaskan Male named Jaeger. (Jaeger is german for Hunter)
